Focusing too narrowly on Yoga therapy as a treatment for diagnosed conditions overlooks the population most likely to seek out Yoga therapy: those interested in wellness, health maintenance, and prevention. This article highlights the potential harm of fashioning Yoga therapy and Yoga therapist training after the fix-it treatment model offered by allopathic medicine, and describes the benefits of focusing on the needs of wellness-seeking clients.
