Activation: A Process of Spiritual Awakening

This article considers the dynamic that may arise between two individuals when one of them has "unconscious shadow material" surfacing during the process of spiritual growth—a phenomenon that can occur between Yoga student or client and Yoga teacher or therapist.

Individuals may experience spiritual awakening in a variety of ways. Historically it has been reported that an individual, like Gautama the Buddha, can sit alone and obtain full realization. Or one can be walking down the "road to Damascus"and be struck by the power of God and realize his or her oneness with the universe.
