The body can be seen and approached as an object as well as experienced subjectively. As an object it may be in need of realignment or increased flexibility,strength, or endurance.

Exercise can be prescribed to treat these deficiencies and various approaches to yoga practice emphasize one or more of these areas of concern; so yoga may be prescribed as a way of bringing about change in the body as an object. Along these lines, then, an "objective" approach to the space the body lives in is concerned with designing an environment so that it is friendly to the structural needs of the human body.
